Summary:
In a safe-space group environment, participants explore issues and/or conflicts relevant to doctoral research with the coach. The method of intervision – a structured form of peer counseling – will be introduced and practiced. In sharing experiences and observing different approaches to resolving real-life cases, participants benefit.
As case givers:
• By developing a good understanding of themselves through other people’s eyes
• By getting great support to finding a solution with a simple methodology
As supporting participants:
• By gaining a deeper understanding of others and how they tick
• From a great opportunity to support others in smooth process
Each participant should be prepared to share and bring a question or issue – it can be anything, no issue is too small or unimportant!
Overall, you can increase your emotional intelligence with this exercise and build the foundation for regular exchange with your peers that will deepen your connectedness.
This fundamental exercise for teambuilding and leadership not only equips participants with skills for their future careers, but also can be self-sustained and reinforced in peer groups in the present for navigating the challenges of doctoral research.
